Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov meets the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi

On March 11, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Filippo Grandi during his working visit to the Republic of Turkey.

The sides exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and humanitarian issues on the agenda. They also discussed the return of IDPs to their homes in accordance with the statement of November 10, 2020.

During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed the importance of Azerbaijan's cooperation with the UNHCR and briefed the opposite side on the restoration and reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories and measures for the return of IDPs to these territories.

Filippo Grandi expressed his gratitude for the detailed information and noted that the work done by our country in this direction is commendable.

The sides expressed mutual interest in continuing cooperation to ensure the safe return of IDPs to their native lands.

At the meeting, the sides also discussed regional issues, including the situation in Ukraine.
